On the screen right before a game you should see 3 little NFL icons. Press the buttons under the code you want the first number, you press Z that many times, second number you press B that many times, last number press A that many times and then press the direction on the control pad that it says. (EXAMPLE: for 3-1-2 LEFT you would press Z 3 times, B one time, A 2 times and then LEFT on the CONTROL PAD.)
